Technical Enhancement

Compatibility & Support

SunSystems 5.4 is now compatible with Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 and supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 as well as Oracle 10g and 11g platforms

Financial Enhancements

Multi-Currency

Users can now use a current exchange rate when processing payments and receipts, with SunSystems 5.4 automatically calculating forex losses/gains and posting the relevant transaction. Also 5.4 has an improved multi-currency functionality for corporate allocation and financials modules enables users to change the exchange rate of held journal once recalled, upon a period or transaction date change.

Analysis

SunSystems 5.4 provides users with the ability to link analysis tables to multiple analysis dimensions and the address table can now be used as an additional analysis dimension

Journal Types

Users now have the ability to suspend or close journal types and further refine unique references by Account Type

Balancing

Businesses that balance by transaction reference are now presented with a warning message, if amendments are about to be made that will result in an unbalanced transaction

Payments

Users have the ability to select transactions for a particular payment set and exclude, if required, all other payments runs and refine before transferring to a particular payment process

Asset Management

Assets can now be grouped together for processing and default depreciation rules set against groups, meaning that users can automatically be assigned to new items that have been posted in each group.

SunSystems 5.4 provides a new option for saving both input and output payloads after processing

Event-driven service-oriented architecture (SOA) enables companies to control how and when they introduce new, up to date business systems and technologies
