Our award winning Responsible Business programme plays an important role within Sapphire and has raised tens of thousands of pounds for our chosen charities.

Our staff nominate a charity that is near to their hearts, and we undertake a whole host of fundraising activities to support these worthy causes. We do everything from fun runs and clothes sales to bake offs and quiz nights, with everyone getting involved.

We have local volunteering opportunities for our staff, which include: supporting our local homeless centre by volunteering in their computer room and volunteering with animals.  We are passionate about raising children’s aspirations and conduct successful workshops with local schools: Saint Joseph's and Ark Globe Academy. We host afternoon teas for local socially isolated elderly people and we work closely with the inspirational The Brokerage, Heart of the City & Team London Bridge.

Our Charity

War Child

War Child was founded in 1993 by film-makers David Wilson and Bill Leeson. On assignment in the former-Yugoslavia they were horrified by the violence and ethnic cleansing they witnessed, especially its impact on children.  War Child operates in war stricken zones to protect children, give them psychological support and provide education.  Donations to this Charity are matched by the UK government.

We will be organising fundraising events throughout the year as usual to raise money for War Child.  Watch this space!

So far we have raised over £27,000 for our chosen charities.

At Sapphire, we are passionate about wellbeing.  We have a Wellness Committee who meet regularly to discuss promoting positive wellbeing, we run Wellness Wednesdays which include free wellbeing events and we have Mental Health First Aiders in the office.

As part of our extensive programme we offer employees:

  • An extra half hour for lunch for staff donating blood
  • A volunteer day policy that permits staff to take one day off a year to volunteer (two days for The Manna Society)
  • Opportunities to participate in annual workshops that we run for local schools
  • Matched funding policy - If our staff are undertaking a fundraising event for another charity we match the amount raised up to £100
  • Ride to Work scheme
  • An opportunity to join our Responsible Business & Wellness Committee which runs a variety of events throughout the year
  • Reduced gym membership
  • Sapphire re-usable water bottle as part of our commitment to reduce single use plastic
